DryLining

Many houses in Ireland have no insulation on the solid walls. A grant is now available under the Better Energy Homes Scheme towards the cost of internal wall insulation.

Our SEI ID Number is 10574.

If you don’t have solid walls, we also do Cavity Wall Insulation.

If your home is built using solid wall or hollow block construction methods, cavity fill is not an option. Internal Insulation (dry-lining) which involves fixing insulation to the inner surfaces of your external walls is one of the alternatives available to you. Internal insulation is a more affordable option than installing external wall insulation. The only difficulty associated with Internal Insulation is the disruption that it can cause while work is being carried out internally.

Internal Insulation does involve removing all objects from the areas that are being internally dry-lined e.g. radiators, presses etc. Therefore careful consideration should be given before deciding what your preferred insulation option should be.

  • Generally cheaper than external wall insulation
  • You lose the thermal mass of your home, so it’ll warm up faster and cool down faster.
  • Reduces the floor area slightly in any rooms its applied
  • Suitable for all home types, and is an ideal retrofit solution

All our drylining is done with phenolic boards up to 82.5mm (12.5mm slab) to come as feasibly close to the u-value of 0.27 as possible.

TKA Insulation has vast experience in dry lining and have completed an extensive number of Insulation jobs to date.
